Christmas in Texas....at Mimi and Grandpa's house

So I need to finish explaining how the rest of our Texas trip went. Seems like it was an eternity now that we were there, but in reality it's only been a few weeks. But when you're in baby land, time flies and since we've been home the bean has started eating real food (pic below), rolling from front to back, has had croup, RSV and double ear infections!


Back to Christmas in Texas. So, after an amazing Christmas with Nick's Mom and sister, we all headed back over to his Dad's house to indulge yet again. Lane, Nick's Dad, set up a laptop where we were opening presents and his parents tuned in with Skype all the way from Lindsborg, Kansas. This is Naida Sr. I'm talking about, so in our minds, very, very important company. Santa was again very gracious and presents and paper were flying everywhere. Of course, the big hit for Naida was, like her chapstick obsession, probably the most inexpensive gift given!! She would walk in and out of the living room having a conversation with the Wonder Pets on the other line...hilarious!


Sabine and Naida met their new (and only) cousin on Nick's side of the family during this trip. Ainsley is the beautiful baby girl of Stan, Nick's brother, and his wife Amber. She was born just 8 weeks after Sabine, so these two girls are going to tear up the town together when we move back to Dallas (sooner than later...a girl can hope). In the picture below, Aunt Nichole and Aunt Meredith are holding the two sweet muchkins...I don't think I saw either of these two change a diaper the whole visit...how did that happen?!

The fabulous Auntie Em was here for a few days with us...I'm sure she'll be showing these girls the ropes on SoCo one day soon or somewhere just as fun!
