Why Weight Watchers...

So, I started Weight Watchers online about 10 days ago weekend because I'm sick of seeing a size 10 in my closet and looking at this kanagroo pouch of flab that creases and nicely flops over when I button pants. I've lost the baby weight from Sabine, but things on this body are so out of place it's not even funny. I have set a goal of 20 pounds by May 1 that would put me at 118. That should get me down to a place I haven't been since college and I would be very happy. For all of you out there that need even extra motivation, get a skinny identical twin that has also had 2 kids and you then have the added pressure in the back of your mind that this is possible (thanks Erica)!


As motivation for myself, I'm posting (saying outloud) the reasons I want a thinner me by the begining of summer so here it goes - you can listen in on my therapy session if you'd like:


1. I want a pair of skinny jeans on this bod

2. Cover your ears kids - I want to walk by a mirror in a thong and take a double look because yes, that is my butt in wonderful shape

3. I want to take the kids to the pool for swim lessons and to Lake Michigan this summer and have people think I'm the hot nanny and then realize, oh my, she's the Mom! (kidding...kind of)

4. I want to wave at a friend in a grocery store and not have the lower half of my upper arm wave as well

5. I want my flip flops to still be springy looking after the summer and not like they've been steamrolled for 3 months

6. I want a reason to go shopping...who doesn't? This will just give me a bit more justification for it!

7. I want to permanently take maternity undies out of rotation (all you women that have been pregnant know what I mean, you keep those babies in rotation too, don't you?!!!)

8. I don't want Naida to ever ask me again 'Mommy, are you having another baby?' when there is no bun in the oven


9. I want to feel strong

and 10: I am determined to run the Chicago Marathon on 10-10-10 this year, so I'm putting in base miles at the gym until serious training starts in June. Wish me luck - I'm insane!

  2. All those reasons are fantastic ones. Does it help to know that they resonate deeply with me yet I have no children?!
